Senior Content Acquisition Associate- Indie Films (Hulu)
Hulu's Content Partnerships (Film) team is seeking a Senior Associate who will be an exceptional addition to our Indie Film team. As a Senior Associate, you will participate in the content acquisition process - tracking and evaluating content opportunities, defining our programming strategy through rigorous analysis of data, reviewing performance of film category (e.g. partnerships, genres, etc.), operationalizing closed agreements, and providing ongoing deal management. This role will be based in Santa Monica and will report to the Senior Manager (Head of Indie Film). This role demands someone who can blend quantitative output with a strong subjective filter to create actionable insights, dynamic interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively drive change - all at a breakneck pace.
Responsibilities
:
• Support the formulation of content strategy and communicate that strategy internally and externally, using data to drive key business decisions and optimize our content portfolio
• Support deal negotiations through financial modeling and data analysis
• Track indie film projects for potential licensing opportunities and provide written feedback on finished films and scripts
• Contribute to strategic relationships with content partners and support the negotiation of licensed deals
• Operationalize deals, managing all aspects of deal close and on-going deal management, including collaboration with Marketing, Product, PR, Finance, and Legal
• Complete long term and ad-hoc projects, including competitive analysis, to support the strategy of the Indie Film team and Hulu overall
Basic Qualifications :
• Experience in and/or passion for Film content in both 'old' and 'new' media, and an understanding of how the industry is changing and why
• 3 years of relevant work experience at either a major media company or a top tier consulting firm / investment bank
• 'Graduate-level' skill in quantitative analysis, excel and data-driven storytelling
• Effective communication skills to disseminate information to relevant stakeholders
• Exceptional attention to detail and process management
• Strong business judgment, and proven strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in an evolving and fast-paced environment, prioritizing and handling multiple projects concurrently, often with little supervision
• Finely-honed sense of humor and willingness to participate in lively debates
• A demonstrated interest in independent film and its players
Preferred Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience in the Film industry, especially ones that brought you into contact with content strategy and/or writing film and script coverage
