General Description:
The Marketing Intern will play a key role in developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, fan engagement, and revenue growth. This position will be responsible for planning and executing marketing campaigns that support ticket sales, corporate partnerships, and brand positioning. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of sports marketing, digital media, and audience development.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Develop and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns to support key business initiatives, including fan engagement, corporate partnerships, retail and brand awareness.
• Oversee the development of creative assets and messaging that align with the Houston Rockets brand and engage target audiences.
• Collaborate with digital, content, and social media teams to create compelling campaigns that drive fan engagement and audience growth.
• Work closely with corporate partnership teams, retail and suites to create integrated marketing strategies that maximize revenue, visibility and impact.
• Analyze and report on marketing campaign performance, leveraging insights to optimize future initiatives.
• Assist in planning and managing the annual marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in sports marketing and fan engagement.
• Coordinate cross-functional marketing efforts with game presentation, influencers, community relations, and ticket sales teams to ensure alignment on brand strategy and promotional initiatives.
• Support in-market activations, grassroots marketing efforts, and fan experience initiatives to enhance the Rockets' presence in the community.
• Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Junior, Senior, or recent graduate (up to 6 months following graduation date)
• Highly motivated undergraduate or graduate student in business administration, marketing, digital media, communications, or a related field
• Must be an innovative thinker, passionate, curious about fans/consumers, and pushing the intersection of sport and culture.
• Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with many different departments across the organization.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others.
• The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
• The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs.
• The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed in light of the strong focus on external communications and relationships.
• Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
