Graphic Design Intern (Full-Season)
General Description:
The Houston Rockets seek a Graphic Design Intern reporting to the Art Director. This position will assist the Art Director and creative team with the pipeline of incoming graphics requests to maintain a consistent brand presence across all content and platform types. The ideal candidate must be a team player who is passionate, can work efficiently, will bring a positive attitude each day, and have an understanding of the NBA. Internship runs from September 8, 2025 through the end of the season. Candidates must provide a design portfolio for review.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
• Work collaboratively with the Art Director and creative team to ensure Rockets content is fresh, exciting, and innovative across all content platforms.
• Create/design original work for various interdepartmental stakeholders, including but not limited to ticketing, events, retail, digital, game presentation, corporate, and social.
• Continue developing and mastering the graphic design craft by seeking feedback, staying up-to-date with design trends, and refining and enhancing your skills through practical application.
• Precisely proof all materials.
• Ability to work independently and respond to creative direction and feedback.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects on a daily basis.
• Assist in managing Photoshelter, including organizing and properly labeling photo content.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• The employee must be currently enrolled at a college or university or graduated within 6 months.
• Able to work at the office in Houston, TX for 20 to 35 hours per week. This position is not eligible for overtime.
• The employee must have a firm grasp in graphic design with experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Creative thinker with the ability to take projects from conception to execution.
• Detail-oriented, especially under deadline pressure and managing multiple projects at once.
• Ability to work independently and also respond to creative direction and feedback.
• The ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and handle several projects at one time.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
• Ability to work effectively under high pressure and tight deadlines in a high-energy environment.
• Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information
• Support with photoshoots, photo selection, archiving, management, and manipulation.
• A deep understanding of basketball/sports preferred.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others.
• The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
• The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs.
• The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed in light of the strong focus on external communications and relationships.
