Summary/Objective
The Manager – Network Administration will work as part of the IT leadership team and supervise a team of engineers or outsourced services by providing technical direction and support. This position is a part of our Network Operations team that envisions, implements, and supports network infrastructure. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the design and implementation as well as day-to-day administration of all network infrastructure including Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco Nexus L2/L3 switches, Cisco ASA, Meraki, and FortiGate Firewalls, IPSEC tunnels, Cisco, Meraki, and Aruba access points, serial console servers, out of band management devices, remote access VPN, multi-factor authentication, redundant high-speed internet links, and inter-datacenter with dynamic routing.

• Manage and supervise employees and/or outsourced vendors.
• Design, install, configure, and maintain Local Area Network and Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) and wireless infrastructure in a multi-vendor environment.
• Analyze, review, and recommend technologies for deployment across the enterprise.
• Supervise the rotational on-call structure to provide after hours and weekend support.
• Provide consulting and engineering services on projects.
• Stay up to date on current technologies, serve as technology consultant, and make recommendations based on knowledge and research.
• Work on unusually complex problems and provide innovative solutions.
• Plan and architect the network infrastructure with IT management to facilitate the development of deliverables such as project-based planning documents, scope documents and client services communication.
• Implement network solutions based on analysis of technical and capacity requirements.
• Perform capacity management, planning, and reporting related to network infrastructure.
• Provide architecture, planning, design, and support for Network Infrastructure including the physical infrastructure in our offices and ballparks.
• Perform analysis and develop advanced telecommunications hardware/software solutions.
• Serve as a senior technical resource to direct and resolve complex and critical Network Infrastructure problems
• Manage and lead highly complex technical projects from start to completion.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routing protocols.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls in routed mode.
• Evaluate company projects to integrate them in the actual network.
• Document and execute production changes in environments with strict high-availability, security/compliance, and change management requirements.
• Deploy and troubleshoot VPN configurations.
• Perform root cause analysis of network issues, submit Change Management requests and follow-up on action items.
• Interact with all levels within the organization.
• Compile and develop project status reports and provide to project stakeholders.
• Maintain procedures and standards in support of network operations and documentation required for network administration.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This job also requires working in IT closets, data centers, and in the overhead (cabling) areas of ball parks and office buildings.

• Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position will also require a willingness to do occasional, scheduled after-hours work and respond to emergencies and escalations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as needed for on-call support.
Travel:
Occasional travel (<25%) is expected with this position.
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5 years providing network engineering support.
• Demonstrated experience in managing technical teams.
• Experience with termination and troubleshooting of copper and fiber cabling.
• Experience with termination, troubleshooting, and extending POTS connections and cabling.
• Understanding of video transmission and plant
• Strong Documentation skills
• Advanced TCP/IP networking foundation including routing, subnetting, VPN, packet filtering/firewalling, VLANs, packet capture/analysis, QOS, and NAT configuration
• Strong experience with configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP and OSPF
• Understanding of ancillary network services such as RADIUS, LDAP and DNS
• Familiarity in working with Linux operating system
• Extensive experience deploying and troubleshooting various VPN configurations including remote access SSL VPN (Cisco), Site to Site IPSEC tunnels w/ IKEv2, GRE/GRE IPSEC, etc.
• Experience with monitoring and management platforms such as Solar Winds, Auvik, or FortiMonitor
• Demonstrated flexibility during times of change and ability to adjust to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
• Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products (Windows desktop, server, and Azure platforms)
• Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise preferred
Preferred Education and Experience
• Advanced Network certification (CCNP)
• Previous experience in MSP/ISP environments
• Understanding of NIST Framework and Zero Trust principles
• Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products (Windows desktop, server and Azure platforms)
• Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise preferred
