This is a Full Time Job
Responsibilities:
• Manage music licensing process, domestically and internationally, across all Disney branded consumer products with embedded music or printed lyrics.
• Ensure all approvals are obtained as needed, including talent approval. Coordinate with internal business units as necessary.
• Provide music quotes to licensees; negotiate rates if requested and possible.
• Coordinate with internal Disney partners to ensure union fees are handled appropriately.
• Draft music licenses and make changes when necessary, coordinating with DMG's Business Affairs team for guidance.
• Create invoice requests and send to licensees along with the licenses.
• Handle music requests, approvals, clearances and licenses for international divisions and licensees.
• Ensure delivery of music assets to licensees in accordance to Disney security practices.
• Track pending and finalized quotes and licenses in various databases.
• Deliver creative musical solutions and ensure each music choice is on brand.
• Review and approve music edits and sound chips for accuracy and quality.
• Develop strong relationships with licensees to generate additional business.
• Partner with internal Disney businesses to improve processes and systems as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience in music licensing, rights management or similar work
• Excellent understanding of the music business, music publishing and master use rights
• Strong understanding of the consumer products business
• Knowledge of union guild rules surrounding licensing requests, particularly AFM and SAG/AFTRA
• Solid negotiating and relationship skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and orally
• Able to adapt to changing environments
• Knowledge of Disney branded properties ideal
