Events and Merchandise Coordinator

Position would be expected to start in mid-October.
SPECIAL EVENTS RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as the main point of contact to handle all solicitation, booking and execution of special events in hospitality areas of Truist Point.
• Assist clients in creating memorable events.
• Responsible for soliciting new outside events for stadium hospitality areas. Creativity a must in determining multiple uses for the stadium areas.
• Develop and execute unique stadium events that gain community exposure and serve the diverse fans in our market.
• Assist with any events booked on the playing field or other areas at Truist Point.
• Oversee all suites and Catalyst Club premium area during all High Point Rockers home games and any other events utilizing these spaces.
• Serve as main liaison with the Carousel Hospitality, official caterer and concessionaire at Truist Point.
• Manage the Truist Point Special Events Calendar in conjunction with the Director of Facility Operations.
• Develop and present reports on a monthly basis outlining bookings and revenue potential.
• Responsible for securing seasonal interns to work events in an effort to learn about the field of hospitality management.
• Oversee all staffing related to events and hospitality areas.
• Assist with administrative tasks and other day-to-day baseball operations when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
MERCHANDISE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee the merchandise operation of the High Point Rockers.
• Select annual additions to the merchandise catalog.
• Order, inventory and stock all merchandise in team store.
• Manage online ordering portal and execute all online merchandise orders.
• Hire staff to manage two stadium merchandise locations on baseball gamedays.
• Perform monthly inventory of all merchandise.
REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Team President and Assistant General Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
• College Degree recommended; preferably in the area of Event/Hospitality Management, Sport Management, Community Relations, or a related field.
• Must be organized and able to meet deadlines.
• Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills to deal with general public and potential clients.
• Must be a team-player in working with the entire Rockers staff.
• Minimum 2-3 years experience in athletics or hospitality management preferred ; merchandise experience a plus.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings as dictated by event schedule.
• Required to work all baseball games and hospitality events at stadium.
• Knowledge of sports and baseball a MUST!

The High Point Rockers of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball are responsible for booking and executing special events at Truist Point, a state-of-the-art multi-purpose facility that opened in 2019 in downtown High Point, North Carolina. With a synthetic turf field, Truist Point accommodates a variety of events and serves as the home for the High Point Rockers and Carolina Core FC of MLS NextPro.
