The Opportunity:
The Home Edit is looking for a highly motivated VP of Editorial. Working closely with the VP of Social and the SVP of Creative, this role is responsible for leading The Home Edit's consumer-facing editorial initiatives to attract, retain and drive consumer engagement opportunities and strategic initiatives for the business. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to lead and oversee our editorial team in creating, curating, and maintaining exceptional content that resonates with our target audience. As the VP of Editorial, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the editorial strategy, guiding the content development process, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity. Your goal will be to bring new stories to market in effective, creative, and authentic ways, and to launch and build a renewed editorial culture and ecosystem. This individual will be responsible for evolving The Home Edit to be at the forefront of the industry and editorial landscape, driving deeper diversification from our competitive landscape.
This position will play a central role in growing awareness, driving engagement, and fostering loyalty and love for The Home Edit. This includes developing and operationalizing editorial calendars, overseeing specialists and freelancers as we expand into new lifestyle categories, and working with cross-functional teams to execute on the strategy.
The ideal candidate will have professional experience supporting content across web, social, and print environments, overseeing multiple categories of content. The ideal candidate also has a strong experience in building commerce-centric content plans that drive affiliate and retail revenue while delivering on progressive audience development and multilayered, creator-first content. We're seeking a leader who's highly creative, bold in their leadership approach, analytical with a growth mindset and with deep experience working cross-functionally.
Leadership experience and the ability to tap into both creative and analytics is essential. This position is available in Nashville (preferred) or New York.

What You Will Do:
• Develop and implement the overall editorial strategy in alignment with the company's goals and target audience, ensuring consistency and relevance.
• Oversees the development of innovative multi-channel, integrated campaign, content, and editorial engagement strategies to drive success.
• Lead, inspire, and manage a team of writers, editors, and content creators. Provide mentorship, feedback, and support for team members' professional growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, create, and curate a wide range of content, including articles, videos, podcasts, and more.
• Maintain editorial standards, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and aligns with the company's brand and voice.
• Monitor audience feedback and trends to refine content strategies and increase user engagement.
• Develop and manage an editorial calendar to ensure timely and consistent content publication.
• Work closely with marketing, social, design, and other teams to integrate editorial efforts into the overall content and marketing strategy.
• Monitor and optimize content for SEO and utilize analytics to measure content performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in content creation and distribution.
• Bring thought-leadership with deep understanding of multi-channel customer experiences, cultural and audience trends, industry news and emerging consumer channels
• Execute retailer partner content with a commerce-first mindset in order to drive product sales and stronger retailer connections.
• Deploy talent strategy through expansive integration plans to include innovative collaborations and advantageous value exchange
• Develop unique collaboration opportunities with earned media outlets and talent collabs
• Identify and synthesize consumer/audience, cultural and brand insights and platform data that will be used to build strategic strategies and plans
Requirements
• 12 years professional experience with in-depth knowledge of the audience growth, content strategies, and insight analysis for multichannel editorial platforms
• Experience managing multi-channel programs and cross-platform teams
• Experience with creator-led brands and commerce brands
• People-first leader with a passion for learning, teaching, and building teams that move at the speed of the consumer
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and stay organized in fast paced, early-stage environment- understanding how to iterate quickly on new ideas
• Experience establishing and operationalizing complex editorial calendars and content plans
• Experience establishing, tracking, and communicating KPIs to management with actionable recommendations to grow the audience. Must have the foresight to adjust on the fly to any positive or negative trends.
• Experience managing talent expectations on content and creative
• Analytical mindset and the ability to use data to inform decisions
• Proven track record for being a self-starter, solution-oriented strategic thinker, and creative collaborator
• Active problem-solver with strong decision-making capability
