Summer Intern - Recipe & App Content Editor
Heirloom Diet
Remote, USThis is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
The Role
We're looking for a Recipe & App Content Editor to help maintain editorial consistency across Helen and our broader recipe library. You'll be the person who makes sure a recipe written in February reads with the same voice, structure, and standards as one written in September, and that every recipe in Helen meets our biological recognition framework.
This is a hands-on editorial role. You'll work directly with the founders and follow a structured reporting process to flag inconsistencies, suggest improvements, and help us scale our content without losing the craft.
What You'll Do
Flag and edit recipes across Helen and our content library for clarity, accuracy, and voice consistency
Standardize formatting, ingredient lists, measurements, instructional language
Cross-check recipes against our Heirloom Diet framework (ancestral whole foods, pre-1920 standards, no industrial seed oils, etc.)
Maintain a style guide and recipe template as our library grows
Use a structured reporting workflow to flag issues and track edits across the team
What We're Looking For
Sharp attention to detail. You notice that when a recipe says ''1 tbsp of egg,'' you can change it to ''1 egg.''
Strong written English and a feel for editorial voice. You can match an established tone, not just impose your own.
Process-oriented. You're comfortable following a reporting workflow and don't need every step re-explained.
Curiosity about food and health. You don't need a nutrition degree, but you should be genuinely interested in how food works.
Self-directed. This is remote and part-time. You'll have clear deliverables and check-ins, but you'll own your hours.
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program where you can receive academic credit for this internship.

What You'll Get
Real editorial ownership of a growing content library
Direct mentorship from founding team members with backgrounds in microbiology, biochemistry, regulatory science, media management, and software engineering
A front-row seat to building a consumer health brand from the ground up
Portfolio-ready work and a strong reference
Additional Information
Heirloom Diet is a food and metabolic health brand focused on the premise that the human body thrives on the whole foods our great-grandmothers consumed, rather than the industrially processed alternatives. The company aims to help individuals return to ancestral eating through education, recipes, and Helen, a meal planning tool named after the founder's grandmother, who lived to 101. As a small, founder-led team, Heirloom Diet operates at the intersection of microbiology, culinary tradition, and modern metabolic health, maintaining high standards for accuracy, voice, and visual cohesion in its content.
