Summer Intern - Admin & Outreach
Heirloom Diet
Remote, USThis is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
The Role
We're looking for an Admin & Outreach Intern to help us land podcast guesting spots, speaking opportunities, and partnership conversations. You'll be the person researching shows, drafting pitches, tracking outreach, and following up.
What You'll Do
Research podcasts, newsletters, and media outlets where our founder would be a strong guest (metabolic health, women's wellness, nutrition, GLP-1 conversations, food policy, longevity)
Build and maintain an outreach pipeline
Draft personalized pitch emails using our talking points and brand voice
Send follow-ups
Coordinate scheduling once a ''yes'' comes in with calendar holds, prep docs, and tech checks
Track and report on outreach metrics weekly: pitches sent, response rate, bookings landed
Help with general administrative support as outreach volume allows - inbox triage, document organization, meeting notes
Flag interesting opportunities you spot independently (newsletters worth pitching, conferences worth applying to, partnership angles we haven't considered)
What We're Looking For
Strong written communication. You can write a pitch email that sounds like a person, not a template.
Research instincts. You can listen to 10 minutes of a podcast and figure out whether our founder would actually be a good guest.
Organized and systematic. You'll be tracking dozens of conversations at different stages.
Persistent without being annoying. You understand the difference between a thoughtful follow-up and a pestering one.
Curious about health, food, and media. You don't need to be an expert, but you should be the kind of person who finds the metabolic health conversation genuinely interesting.
Self-directed. This is remote and part-time. You'll have clear targets and weekly check-ins, but you'll own your pipeline.
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program where you can receive academic credit for this internship.
Logistics
Location: Remote, US-based
Time commitment: Part-time, flexible hours (typically 10-15/week)
Compensation: Unpaid; for academic credit only. We will work with your university to meet credit requirements.
Term: May 26, 2026 - August 14, 2026 (flexible)
What You'll Get
Real ownership of an outreach pipeline at a growing health brand
Direct mentorship from founding team members with backgrounds in microbiology, regulatory science, media management, and software engineering
A portfolio of pitches, bookings, and metrics you can point to in future job applications
Exposure to how a consumer health brand builds media presence from the ground up
A strong reference
Additional Information
Heirloom Diet is a food and metabolic health brand focused on the premise that the human body thrives on the whole foods our great-grandmothers consumed, rather than the industrially processed alternatives. The company aims to help individuals return to ancestral eating through education, recipes, and Helen, a meal planning tool named after the founder's grandmother, who lived to 101. Led by a small, founder-driven team, Heirloom Diet operates at the intersection of microbiology, culinary tradition, and metabolic health, with its founder bringing 20 years of regulatory science experience as a microbiologist and biochemist.
Employer will only allow resumes sent in the body of the email.
