Internship Position Title/s: Music Business Intern - Spring 2020
Internship Hours: 10 am - 4 pm, Monday through Friday (with some flexibility to accommodate student's classes.)
**NOTE** Due to COVID-19, until further notice, this will strictly be a remote position.
12-16 weeks - Starting roughly August 25th, 2019 (exact start and end date are subject to change depending on student's schedule/external factors)
Compensation: Unpaid/Academic Credit
Required Applicant Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication, a positive attitude and desire to pursue a career in the music industry. A good ear and passion for music a plus. Technically proficient at entering data carefully. Must be organized, meticulous, punctual, reliable and responsible.
Internship Duties Description:
An internship here at Heavy Hitters Music consists of creative input (A&R- reviewing music and working with artists), pitching music to clients, licensing/clearance from the Publishing side, Metadata management, Promotion and Marketing, Social Media, Graphic Design, Publishing, Royalty Collection, etc. One exercise will be learning about the 13 steps of Music Clearance, beginning with the research of song/master ownership all the way to the preparation of music cue sheets. It's a broad spectrum and a great opportunity for someone eager to learn the ins and outs of the Film/TV and Publishing area of the music industry.
