Hearst Television is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Financial Planning & Analysis team. Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, this role plays a critical part in financial reporting, analysis, and strategic decision support within a fast-paced corporate environment. The Senior Financial Analyst partners closely with senior leadership to deliver actionable insights through high-quality financial reporting, robust financial models, and executive-level presentations, while continuously improving financial processes, tools, and reporting capabilities to support data-driven decision-making. This is an in-person role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Month-end financial reporting, consolidation, and analysis, including multi-entity P&L consolidation, system reconciliations, data management, variance analysis, and management commentary
• Leverage financial systems, reporting tools, and emerging technologies (including automation, advanced analytics
• Develop and maintain executive-level financial reports, dashboards, and presentations that highlight performance, trends, and key business drivers
• Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts, quarterly leadership reviews, the annual budget, and the 5-year long-range plan
• Lead ad hoc financial and operational analyses to deliver actionable insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders
• Use Generative AI to improve forecasting, reporting efficiency, and decision support
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance data quality, and improve the scalability of FP&A deliverables
• Support M&A and other strategic initiatives, including due diligence, valuation analysis, and transaction support
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/analytical discipline (e.g. Accounting/ Finance, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.) or equivalent experience
• 4 years of financial analysis experience in a corporate environment
• Advanced analytical skills with experience developing and maintaining business intelligence and data visualization tools.
• Working knowledge of accrual-based accounting principles (GAAP) preferred
• Hands on experience with SmartView/Essbase and ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP
• Advance proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; strong working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications
• Media industry experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively in a team environment, and take ownership of projects from concept through execution
• Detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
