WGAL 8, the Hearst Television NBC affiliate in the Harrisburg-Lancaster-Lebanon-York, PA market is seeking a National Sales Assistant. This team member is responsible for supporting the National Sales Manager and the rep firm in trafficking all national and political business to ensure successful broadcast and digital advertising campaigns. The ideal candidate can provide superior customer service to our clients and sales executives as well as understand the sense of urgency inherent in working within a broadcast sales organization. Attention to detail, ability to pivot quickly from one project to another, willingness to learn, personal initiative and ability to collaborate with a team are attributes that will ensure a successful career choice.
Job Responsibilities:
• Entering and maintaining all national orders including electronic transfer and maintenance of all MediaLine/WOPlatform orders to WideOrbit traffic.
• Instrumental in the workflow process for political advertising on the station
• Assisting the National Sales Manager on client campaign management
• Create supportive marketing materials for sales department
• Assist in the development of sales proposals, advertising packages and client presentations
• Effectively communicate with internal teams (sales, production, finance) and external clients on performance and delivery of campaigns
• Maintain organized filing systems
• Prepare proposals based on account executive requests
• Facilitate a variety of internal and external reporting including customized statistical market research
• Work cooperatively with managers, co-workers, and clients to deliver a high-level of service.
• Interact with co-workers, clients, and the viewing public in a professional manner, both on the phone and in person
• Cross-trained within the entire sales support team
• Duties as assigned
Experience/Qualification Requirements:
• Organized, detail-oriented team player with exceptional written and verbal skills
• Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word
• Strong Customer service skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
• Positive attitude and professional demeanor are essential along with flexibility to work in a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment
• Previous office work in a sales environment preferred
