Full Time Job
WPTZ-TV, a Hearst Television station, has an immediate opening for a Master Control Supervisor. We are looking for the right person who is a self-motivated, detail oriented, organized, team player. This person will supervise a team of Master Control Operators who are responsible for controlling the equipment providing content for our television program streams that are watched on cable, satellite and over the air.
Job Responsibilities:
• Maintain operations that keeps us in compliance with FCC rules and regulations
• Schedule M/C Operators for 24x7 operations and fill in when needed
• Ensure proper program and transmitter log documentation by the Master Control team
• Train MCOs in the operation and future operations of Master Control
• Review MCO's in conjunction with Engineering management
• Maintain a dialog with other departments to support their operations
• Communicates problems with equipment to the Engineering team in a timely manner
• Ensure acquisition of content from content providers
• Will help to create and update operations documentations
Experience
Requirements:
• Must have computer and software experience.
• Prior supervisory experience a plus.
• Prior experience in television station operations a plus.
• Prior experience in Master Control operations a plus.
• Related military experience will be considered.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Must be reasonably computer literate.
• Attention to detail is critical.
• Multi-tasking ability is required.
• Ability to train others is required.
• Must be able to operate equipment used for broadcast and production.
• Must have good vision, with or without correction.
• Must be team player with good interpersonal skills.
• Exposure to television operations a plus.
Education:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• We will train the right candidate.
