WGAL-TV - Part-Time News Editor
Location: Lancaster-Lebanon-Harrisburg-York, PA
WGAL-TV, the NBC affiliate in the Lancaster-Lebanon-Harrisburg-York market, is seeking a creative and motivated part-time News Editor to join the team. This position will cover news stories and provide editing support for multiple platforms, collaborating with producers, reporters, and managers to deliver high-quality storytelling.
Job Responsibilities:
• Edit news stories, videos, and newscasts for multiple news platforms using Adobe Premiere
• Maintain news archives and ensure proper storage and organization of media files
• Collaborate with producers, reporters, and managers to produce compelling stories
• Operate electronic newsgathering equipment and manage ENG and SNG feeds
• Edit various elements such as PKGs, VOs, VOSOTs, opens, teases, and preproduction material
• Perform other editing duties as assigned by news managers
Qualifications Requirements:
• Proficiency in nonlinear editing with Adobe Premiere
• Experience with other nonlinear systems like Final Cut Pro is a plus
• Knowledge of current television production techniques
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple editing assignments
• Strong communication skills and collaboration with newsroom teams
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• Experience with nonlinear editing software (Adobe Premiere or equivalent) preferred
• Military on-air producing experience or training from Defense Information School (DINFOS) is a plus
