Hearst Television (HTV) is seeking a full-time Human Resources Assistant to support the operations of its HR team. This role contributes to a wide range of HR functions, from recruiting to systems administration, reporting, and compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start and build a career in human resources while gaining experience in key HR platforms and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Recruiting Support
• Assist with data maintenance of applicant tracking system
• Support 600 annual job postings in compliance with federal contractor and FCC EEO reporting requirements
• Maintain close connection with HTV hiring managers
HR Systems & Reporting
• Enter transactions, pull reports, and manage employment data
• Maintain accuracy of HR documentation and digital records
Compliance & Audits
• Ensure adherence to federal contractor requirements including EEO, VEVRAA, and FCC EEO reporting
• Ensure compliance with applicable policies and employment law requirements
• Maintain onboarding and benefits documentation for audit readiness
Administrative & General HR Support
• Participate in recurring HR team meetings and community calls
• Organize digital HR files and maintain SharePoint resources
• Assist with employee communications, engagement activities, and wellness initiatives
Qualifications
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Oracle HCM or similar systems is a plus
• Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Interest in HR systems, compliance, and employee programs
Schedule & Location
• Full-Time (40 hours/week)
• Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (with flexibility)
• In-office at least 3 days a week
