Scope of the Position:
Supports the Vice President of Programming (on-site/in-person) and Vice President of Ad Operations and Information Services (remote) by performing complex tasks, coordinating daily operations, and assisting with group-wide projects and initiatives.
Essential Functions:
• Maintain calendar with heavy scheduling needs; schedules day to day activities and appointments using discretion and judgment as to priorities; tactfully handles requests for time; reminds of upcoming commitments.
• Serves as liaison in establishing and maintaining working relationship both internally and externally, including industry-related boards and professional organizations; exercises confidentiality, resourcefulness, and creativity in responding to internal and external inquiries.
• Prepares reports, information and data in preparation for meetings and events.
• Drafts, formats, proofreads, and/or edits outgoing correspondence; prepares presentation materials and reports.
• Makes department travel and accommodation arrangements; prepares expense reports for reimbursement.
• Maintains contacts and current and historical confidential business files.
• Coordinates and supports a wide variety of special projects and event planning and logistics.
• Flexibility to complete last-minute assignments and task requests outside of standard business hours.
• Manage and maintain relationships with station general managers, programming departments, content providers and networks, our legal teams, regulatory contacts, Hearst content divisions, distributors, studio presidents, agents, and on-air talent.
• Back end and behind the scenes involvement in negotiations with a commitment to understanding your role and responsibilities through the process.
• Pull, organize, and analyze broadcast television research.
• Assist with department social media functions.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills

Qualifications:
Previous exposure to the media industry either through coursework or professional experience. 2-3 years' experience providing support to senior officer or combination of related education and experience. Previous experience and/or knowledge of programming and production, television research, including familiarity with Neilson and ComScore, broadcast television, syndication, and/or connection within the programming ecosystem is advantageous.
Accuracy and attention to detail are critical competencies; proactive positive outlook and organization expertise are key aptitudes; strong grammar and wordsmith skills required; able to work effectively with a variety of people in a diverse workforce; adaptable to changing work requirements; willing to multi-task; possesses high degree of professional integrity; strong client service orientation; an expert at online research. Proficient with software applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
The estimated base salary range for this role is between $65,000 and $75,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
