Editor / Motion Designer

Hearst Television (HTV) seeks an experienced video editor / motion designer with exceptional design and creative skills to join our group design hub as Editor / Motion Designer. Working closely with HTV Design's Director, Design Manager, Design Team and station group this position is responsible for editing and adding motion design to shared group videos, on-air promos, marketing materials, and Hearst Television videos used for internal and external marketing. Position can include both short form and long form editing. Reports to Director of HTV Design working inside design hub in Winter Park, FL.

Job Responsibilities:

• Edit, animate and execute group brand-building initiatives for station Creative Services, News and Sales departments and Hearst Television

• Collaboration and one-on-one interaction with HTV Design managers and station staff

• Manage video production projects including HTV Design produced motion elements and shared video assets delivered from stations and other HTV brands

• Help in the creating and versioning of templated projects that can be customized and used by local stations and HTV brands

Experience Requirements:
• Deep understanding of non-linear editing, motion design, project planning and video production process

• Understanding of cinematography, cinema cameras, color correction and video formats

• Ability to manage media assets and projects from concept to completion

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud editing and design tools including Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop and Illustrator

• 2D motion design for commercial and promotional video projects. 3D experience with C4D a plus

• Experience in Final Cut Pro, AVID or other non-linear systems beneficial as well

Qualifications Requirements:

• Extraordinary visualization, conceptualization, and design skills with strong background in motion design and non-linear editing

• Design portfolio, motion reel, or editing samples should demonstrate knowledge of current industry trends and techniques

• Strong communication and organizational skills including presentation skills, both in person and remotely with clients

Education:

• Related experience and/or training considered as well as a combination of education and experience

• Professional or military experience and a strong portfolio strongly considered
