KETV, Omaha's News Leader based at historic 7 Burlington Station, is seeking a Digital Media Manager to lead our local Hearst Television team.

As Digital Media Manger, you will oversee KETV.com and KETV's social media platforms. The DMM is a solid writer who produces original editorial and video content, develops strategies for increased user engagement, and uses various forms of analytics to leverage digital content for maximum visibility.

But above all, the KETV Digital Media Manager is a leader. We want someone eager to set goals and work with a staff of professional journalists to accomplish them.

The winning candidate will be a creative, solid journalist who recognizes which stories are important, and who knows how to make them interesting. You must be highly-engaged on social media and able to recognize what makes an effective post on our website, and on various social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Video editing for social media platforms is a key part of this position as well.

The DMM also works with Omaha's leading sales staff on digital strategies and initiatives.

As DMM, you be a team leader and a partner with news management to coordinate daily production of news content, and to plan for events and special coverage. At the same time, you must be ready to respond in an instant to breaking news and weather. We want someone who is passionate about keeping KETV.com the key source for local news, weather and sports in Omaha.

Job Responsibilities:

• Writing and editing copy for all KETV digital platforms (Website, app and social media)
• Production of video content for all KETV digital platforms
• Director oversight of a digital editor
• Organization and coordination of a team approach to producing digital content involving the entire news operation
• Active engagement in daily news editorial meetings
• Ability to identify viral content and leverage that for maximu engagement
• Development of strategies for new and innovative content and for increased engagement
• Analyzing digital and social analytics to set and reach goals, and to produce and present regular reports
• Regular interaction with Hearst digital managers on content products and strategies
• Working with Sales and Creative Services on projects

Experience:
• Two years in website content production
• Active social media accounts, and knowledge of best practices for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
• Skills at non-linear editing
• Strong management skills
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere

Education:

• College Degree in Journalism or related field preferred but not required
• Military training from Defense Information School (DINFOS) with related experience will be considered
