Full Time Job
Hearst Television is seeking an innovative, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and ambitious Consumer Producer to join Rossen Reports, our National Consumer Unit. Rossen Reports is focused on helping viewers save money, save time, and find hacks that make everyday life easier. You will focus on generating ideas and researching and pitching stories that impact the finances and lifestyle of viewers in all Hearst Television markets. You will be the primary videographer and primary writer of content for TV and digital, which currently includes one weekly enterprise story, weekly ''Rossen in 60'' segments, stories delivering financial education, and ''Rossen Responds'' segments that provide answers and advice for viewers with consumer challenges.
You must have a deep understanding of and experience with crafting engaging and relatable consumer content. You will work closely and collaboratively with Chief National Consumer Correspondent Jeff Rossen, our Special Projects Producer/Editor, and the Director of Special Projects and Group Initiatives, to plan and coordinate coverage and conceptualize creative ways to tell stories. The Rossen Reports team also constantly communicates with our local stations and national digital and creative teams to provide customized content and coordinate regular visits to our 27 television markets.
This is an in-person job based at a Hearst Television facility. Locations under consideration include West Palm Beach, FL, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities:
• Develop story ideas, research topics, verify and fact-check information, and use your experience and creativity to write conversational and engaging stories
• Manage multiple storytelling projects simultaneously while ensuring quality, ethics, and thoughtful decision-making
• Coordinate and oversee logistics for interviews, video shoots, and travel and production schedules, while serving as the primary writer and videographer for TV and digital content
• Conceptualize experiential content and digital elements to support data-focused stories
• Effectively communicate and work seamlessly with all team members and managers, creative and digital teams, and other Hearst divisions to complete projects and elevate content
Qualifications:
• Works under pressure, make quick decisions, and organize and prioritize multiple projects at once
• Experience in consumer journalism and engaging storytelling and writing
• Experience shooting broadcast quality video with an iPhone or DSLR cameras
• Must have a valid driver's license and a near-perfect driving record

The estimated base salary range for this role is between $75,000 and $85,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
