Senior Manager, Marketing Optimization and Analysis

Support local news! Hearst Newspaper Group is looking for an Optimization Manager to drive all and any marketing tests that will help increase our digital subscription KPIs across Hearst newspapers. The successful candidate will have experience with statistical analysis and have a passion for problem solving. They will thrive on collaboration across teams and time zones, understanding that success will not come from operating in a vacuum. An analytical mind is a must as we optimize flows, creative, UX, offers and more; the right candidate will leverage data to validate ideas and hypotheses. As the Senior Manager, Marketing Optimization and Analysis you'll be part of the digital acquisition team and work collaboratively across marketing operations, product and technical stakeholders at Hearst newspapers to deploy marketing tests that look to continually increase digital subscriptions and revenue.
What will you do?
• Manage day-to-day analysis and a/b tests across the 4 Ps of marketing - product, price, position, promotion - for digital subscriptions for all our HNP markets
• Create marketing optimization roadmap to share with marketing and product teams.
• Identify new opportunities to improve digital subscription KPIs; this can and will span from our lead gen assets to our consumer marketing creative and copy to our eCommerce flow
• Coordinate and work with finance, product, and UX team to execute various optimizations
• Clearly communicate, document and disseminate analysis; turn data into actionable insights to drive results
• Provide executive level of insights and analysis among retention and acquisition related tests.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional and cross-market teams, including BI to ensure data is being tracked appropriately
• Ensure all optimizations are statistically significant and understand sample size needed for optimal results.
• Dig into problems, define analytical objectives and formalize data requirements for various types of analyses
• Learn, understand and apply industry best practice optimizations across platforms, markets, products, etc.
What will it take to be successful?
• 5 years of professional experience in marketing or product
• Working knowledge of digital marketing and digital subscription products, preferred
• Quantitative and statistical background, including use of software to support quantitative analysis
• SQL and Alteryx experience highly desired
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience working with cross-functional and cross-market teams
