Production/Copy Editor
Hearst Newspapers Publishing Center is looking for a Production/Copy Editor to perform all aspects of news production from editing, headline writing, and page layout for a variety of topics from news to sports.
An HNP Production Editor/Copy Editor is responsible for assisting in the production of daily and weekly newspapers through page layout, copy editing, headline, and caption writing to engage readers.
What will you do?
• Design basic pages in the newspaper's style.
• Edit stories for clarity, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
• Writes crisp headlines and photo captions.
• Provides quality control and proofreading to improve reader experience.
What will it take to be successful?
• At least 1-3 years of experience in print publication production.
• Strong language and editing skills.
• Knowledge of AP stylebook.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.
• College degree.
