Full Time Job
Work for the largest media organization in New York's Capital Region. The Times Union, a division of Hearst, has a commercial printing operation which produces multiple titles. We need an energetic person to join our computer-to-plate team.
This position's primary responsibility is to proof pages prior to plate production and create plates for a KBA Commander 4-color web offset newspaper press. In addition, this position performs general maintenance and cleaning of equipment, restocking of materials, and light pagination. Effective and professional communication with coworkers and customers is critical to success.
Skills
required:
• Knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft applications
• Troubleshooting skills
• Organizational and file management skills
• Ability to keep calm under pressure and remain level-headed
Position Requirements
• High School Diploma
• Background with computers
• Graphic applications a plus, but not necessary
• Must be able to lift 35-pounds regularly
• Must be able to operate a pallet jack
Pay starts at $15.00/hour and progresses upward with training and experience. You must list your job history in your application, or attach a resume, in order to be considered.
