DIRECTOR OF PRODUCTION / POST PRODUCTION: Clevver
HDM is seeking a full-time Director of Production / Post Production to join its Clevver video team. The position is responsible for all production resources for Hearst Studios West, including supervising equipment inventory and maintenance, managing all studio activity, supervising Post Production operations, and providing any/all production services as needed. This person is highly organized, technically proficient with all production processes, gear and software, a strong problem solver, and a team player with a wide range of production skills. The role is based in Santa Monica, California.
Responsibilities
• Maintain and coordinate Hearst West Studios for production.
• Assist in hiring and scheduling freelance Producers/Crews/Editors/Assistant Editors/Finishers and ensure appropriate resource allocation
• Work closely with Producers to coordinate crews, schedule and reserve required equipment or source equipment as needed
• Handle all equipment repairs and purchases
• Provide production design services and Videographer/Grip/Gaffer support when needed on productions
• Oversee prop and wardrobe resources
• Ability to span the gap between departments to keep projects running on time
• Assist with Post Production freelancer paperwork and time cards on a weekly basis.
• Track Post Production freelancer costs based on production budgets
• Assist with tracking Post-Production timelines for all projects to ensure all internal and client deliverables stay on track
• Coordinate Post Production for deliveries to various platforms
• Familiarity with various encoding processes for distribution required
• Quality check final exports across all platforms
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree
• Must have a minimum of 5¬–7 years professional production experience
• Experience managing Production and Post Production processes and personnel
• An expert's knowledge of, and ability to operate production equipment and gear
• A deep understanding of the digital landscape and related production is a must
• Deadline driven and results oriented
• Strong communication skills a must, both written and verbal including common production jargon
• A team player who can adapt on the fly and wear multiple production hats
