Your impact:
The Vice President of Editorial Operations will be responsible for centralizing our editorial operating metrics and helping facilitate their achievement. In addition to playing a critical role in the Finance & Strategy organization, the VP will act as a central point of contact to select enterprise-wide initiatives. This will require collaborating closely not only with the Editorial Director and respective brand editorial leadership, but also across multiple central departments such as Product Design & Engineering, Advertising, and Partnerships.
What You'll Do:
• Oversee enterprise-level requirements for editorial in the areas of content analysis, social partnerships, and other initiatives, working in close collaboration with brand leadership and the company's Editorial Director
• Support Executive and Editorial leadership by developing and implementing workflows and processes to support editorial teams in their achievement of performance goals related to audience, engagement, and (as needed) revenue.
• Ensure transparency and accountability in editorial performance, providing regular updates and detailed reports to senior management.
• Collaborate across brand leaders and Editorial Director to ensure that content strategies are aligned with overall business goals and market trends.
• Provide data and insights to the editorial organization, helping teams understand performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and lead comprehensive training programs to help editors meet and exceed goals, including traffic, engagement, membership, video views, and affiliate revenue.
• Represent the Hearst editorial organization in discussions with our off-platform partners, collaborating with the Partnerships team to expand the reach and impact of content across various social platforms.
• Work closely with Product leadership to ensure the continued development of the CMS supports business KPIs and editorial performance.
• Serve as the primary editorial contact on legal and copyright compliance, ensuring all content meets requirements and upholds the highest editorial standards.
• Foster strong partnerships with editorial leaders and Editors-in-Chief, providing support and resources to help them achieve their editorial goals.
Who You Are:
• Proven experience in a senior editorial or content operations role, with a strong track record of managing complex projects in a matrixed organization.
• Deep understanding of digital content strategy and audience development, with a focus on driving engagement and revenue growth.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with sales, marketing, finance, partnerships, and other departments.
• Ability to develop and lead training programs that equip editorial teams with the skills and knowledge needed to achieve their goals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders across the organization.
