At Hearst Studios, the studio is where ideas come to life. As a Studio Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in keeping our in-house photo studio running smoothly-supporting shoots, managing day-to-day operations, and collaborating with creative teams to bring standout visual content to life.
Key Responsibilities (What You're Doing)
• Coordinate studio booking requests and maintain the studio calendar to ensure seamless daily operations
• Monitor and respond to studio email inquiries in a timely, professional manner
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and readiness of studio spaces, including photo equipment, props, and work areas
• Support photo and video shoots by assisting with setup and breakdown of lighting, seamless paper, wall flats, props, and other studio materials
• Track, inventory, and help maintain studio photo and video equipment
• Provide hands-on support for studio-hosted events, including setup, breakdown, and on-site assistance
• Collaborate closely with the studio team and visual editors to anticipate needs, troubleshoot issues, and deliver a smooth studio experience
Qualifications (What We're Looking For)
• Hands-on experience with photo and video equipment and a genuine interest in photography
• Familiarity with Profoto lighting equipment
• Proficiency with Mac OS X, Capture One, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, Microsoft applications, and Google Sheets
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced studio environment
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable taking ownership of responsibilities
• Collaborative team player with a positive, flexible, and service-minded approach
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to assist wherever needed on shoots, events, or productions
• This role is based in NYC and operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring 4 days per week in the office
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
