Social Platform Product Marketer, Hearst Ad Product / Digital Media
Hearst Ad Product is responsible for the development, deployment and commercialization of products and services that drive advertiser success and business growth. We develop and implement go-to-market strategies and define the positioning and messaging for our product portfolio and data- and audience-driven solutions while driving their adoption and integration into Hearst's ad sales initiatives.
Hearst Ad Product is seeking a Social Platform Product Marketer to work closely with our social and platform partners to oversee the full life-cycle of each social and partner-platform product from identifying and vetting product opportunities, determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and sales enablement.
This role will work closely with our platform partners including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snap, Inc. and more as well as with internal teams and departments to both facilitate the development of new revenue-generating opportunities for our sales teams and work with partners to co-develop custom solutions where applicable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop relationships with social and platform partners to ensure ongoing communication around new and existing product successes, challenges and potential launches
• Partner with Hearst's Strategic Partnerships team to identify commercialization opportunities from editorial social and platform products
• Own vetting and validation of [new) product, feature and update releases for Sales and marketplace benefit
• Create go-to-market (GTM) strategy for products including setting objectives, goals, audience definition, marketing and communication strategy, and measurement
• Craft all product related collateral across product one-sheets, marketing slides, presentation slides, product briefs, etc. and work with graphic designer for finalization and release
• Craft product messaging for both internal and external audiences
• Establish product pricing
• Partner with Sales Trainers to determine product training needs, rollout and structure
• Ensure consistent partnership and communication with Sales reps to capture and respond to product feedback throughout lifecycle
• Understand and measure product success and use insights to inform product life-cycle, e.g. product retirement, pivoting
• Evaluate potential opportunities and ''white space'' through marketplace and sales feedback, industry knowledge, competitive insight, etc. and develop business cases that evaluate the revenue impact of new ad features, programs and technologies. Clarify and analyze the associated needs, benefits, and possible solutions, ultimately leading to a build, buy, or partner strategy recommendation
• Work with Product Marketing Communications leader to develop product case studies around success metrics
• Review competitor products and marketing, educating stakeholders on key areas for growth and ongoing differentiation
Qualifications:
• Industry experience in marketing with social product expertise
• Experience in messaging, positioning, branding, creative development and campaign execution a plus
• Bachelor's degree
• Must have at least 2-3 years of product experience
