Job Overview:
Hearst Magazines is hiring a Shooter/Editor to join the Central Video team. This person will be working across all of our brands, plus special projects. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, be capable of balancing multiple projects simultaneously, and will be a problem-solver who is quick on their feet. The ideal candidate will also bring both creative and technical expertise to all projects they work on, which will be a range of topics including lifestyle, fitness, health, pop culture, and more. Content varies from short-form digital content to longer-form docu-style content, so solid understanding of storytelling is a must. This position will be a 50/50 split between shooting and editing.
This position will report to the Director of Post Production.
Job Responsibilities:
• Lighting and shooting both on set and on location as needed
• Determine all gear needed for shoots, working with PAs to draft equipment lists
• Run audio on shoots as needed
• Work with producers to determine aesthetic for shoots, ensuring their creative vision is executed with video and sound
• Edit long and short-form content for multiple different platforms (on-site, YouTube, social media, etc), using the Adobe suite of applications (Premiere, After Effects). As editor, you will have keen attention to detail and knowledge of all parts of the editing process, including audio mixing, color grading, and implementing graphics via Mogrts.

Technical Requirements:
• Proficient understanding of the following cameras: Panasonic Eva1, Panasonic Gh5, Sony FS7, Canon C300
• Proficient understanding of lighting equipment including (but not limited to) Arri Sky Panel, Litepanel Astra, Quasars, Kinos, Litemats, Tungsten units
• Proficiency with running audio on set– setting up boom mics and lavaliers for talent
• Proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro
• Familiarity with other Adobe Creative Suite applications, including a strong working knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, and Photoshop a plus
• Familiarity with audio mixing and color grading/correction also a huge plus
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Film/Art/Photography
• 4 years minimum experience in production and shooting
• Solid technical camera operating skills
• Skilled in lighting multiple setups: 3-point lighting, seamless lighting, high and low key lighting
• Excellent editing skills and time management capabilities
• Solid understanding of story structure and story-telling skills
• Ideal candidate will be tech savvy and knowledgeable about up-and-coming aspects of film and video production
• Can carry 50 lbs of equipment
• Expert communication, organization and problem-solving skills

The base salary for this role is between $70,000 and $75,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject
