Overview (Why This Role?)
Are you a strategic finance leader passionate about transforming insights into action? Hearst Magazines is seeking a dynamic Senior Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis to drive financial performance and strategic decision-making across our U.S. Media division. In this high-impact role, you'll serve as a trusted partner to the CFO and executive team, unlocking business value through rigorous forecasting, budgeting, and analytics.
Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
• Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly forecasts and annual budgets, ensuring alignment with business strategy and operational realities.
• Develop deep understanding of departmental performance, surfacing risks and opportunities through financial and operational insights.
• Partner with business leaders to co-develop budgets and forecasts with shared accountability.
• Oversee creation of monthly variance analysis and reporting, informing leadership of key trends and escalating issues as needed.
• Manage and evolve the FP&A function with a focus on technology, efficiency, and actionable insights.
• Conduct ad hoc financial modeling and strategic planning for new business initiatives and investments.
• Build and maintain dashboards to analyze and communicate business performance.
• Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and adaptability.
Qualifications (What We're Looking For)
• Minimum of 20 years of experience in corporate FP&A, with meaningful leadership experience in the digital media industry.
• Bachelor's degree required; CPA or MBA a plus.
• Strong analytical skills, including complex financial modeling and data interpretation.
• Proven track record of leading strategic financial planning processes in deadline-driven environments.
• Change-minded leader with a continuous improvement approach and ability to implement best practices.
• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
• Collaborative, persuasive, and humble approach to stakeholder engagement.
• Hybrid role based in New York City - in-office 4 days per week.
