Hearst Magazines is looking for a Senior Sales Tax Accountant to join our finance team based out of Charlotte, NC. The Staff Accountant will play an important role within the Subscription Accounting Department while maintaining existing finance operations across all of the Hearst Magazines brands.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

• Process and Formatting Sales tax data to meet state requirements
• Prepare various state sales tax returns
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies
• Assist in Annual 1042s filings
• Assist in property tax filings
• Assist with automation sales tax data to file returns faster
• Participate in special projects

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

• BS Degree in Accounting
• 5 years of relevant work experience
• Critical thinker
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with ability to communicate effectively and build relationships across all levels of management
• Self-starter who is detail-oriented, deliverable focused, well-organized and willing to take on an expanded role over time

This role requires the position to be located in Charlotte, NC with an in-office presence of 3 days a week.
