Help shape how millions of cyclists train, ride, and live stronger lives. Bicycling is looking for an energetic, idea-driven Senior Health and Fitness Editor to create impactful content that inspires riders to feel more powerful, confident, and prepared on every ride.
In this role, you'll bring expertise in health, fitness, training, and nutrition to develop compelling stories, workouts, and multimedia content that connect with Bicycling's passionate global community.

Key Responsibilities (What You'll Do)
• Create and publish original health and fitness content-including stories, workouts, and videos-that serves Bicycling's dedicated audience.
• Use audience insights and performance data to inform editorial decisions and adapt to evolving brand metrics.
• Experiment with new storytelling formats, voices, sourcing approaches, and engagement strategies to expand reach and deepen reader trust.
• Develop expert-driven content focused on cycling fitness, training, health, and nutrition across digital and emerging platforms.
• Collaborate with editors, producers, and cross-functional teams to deliver consistent, high-quality editorial output.
• Engage with and support Bicycling's community by producing content that empowers riders to feel stronger, safer, and more confident on their bikes.
• Stay ahead of trends in fitness, training science, and the cycling industry to ensure content remains relevant and authoritative.
• Represent Bicycling within the cycling and fitness community through events, partnerships, and industry relationships.
Qualifications (What We're Looking For)
• Strong experience creating compelling health, fitness, or training content for digital media.
• Deep knowledge of health, fitness, training, and nutrition, with enthusiasm for cycling and rider culture.
• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple platforms, including digital and video.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across editorial, audience, and production teams.
• A data-informed approach to editorial strategy and audience engagement.
• Experience producing or contributing to multimedia content such as video or social media storytelling.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to test new ideas and formats.
• Hybrid work schedule with four days per week in the office in Easton, Pennsylvania.
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create and publish daily, original content that engages and builds trust with Bicycling's loyal community.
• Use data insights and personal experiences to inform content strategy and adapt to changing brand metrics.
• Lead experimentation across content formats, voice, sourcing, and audience engagement to strengthen trust and expand reach.
• Develop stories, workouts, videos, and other fitness-related content for Bicycling's various platforms.
• Engage with readers to help them feel more comfortable, powerful, and confident on their rides.
• Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure a consistent and high-quality content output.
• Stay updated on the latest health, fitness, and training trends and incorporate them into Bicycling's content.
• Work closely with the data team to analyze content performance and make data-driven decisions.
• Represent Bicycling at industry events and conferences, building relationships and staying connected to the cycling community.
QUALIFICATIONS
• A proven track record of creating engaging health and fitness content, preferably in a senior editorial role.
• Expertise in health, fitness, training, and nutrition, with a passion for cycling and an understanding of the cycling community.
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to adapt content for various platforms.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a team.
• A data-driven mindset and the ability to analyze content performance and make strategic decisions.
• Experience with content creation for digital platforms, including video production and social media engagement.
• A deep understanding of the cycling industry and its trends, with a network of industry contacts.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with a willingness to embrace change and new challenges.
Salary/Benefits
$68,829 - $75,000 /year USD
The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors.
