House Beautiful is seeking a senior editor to help lead daily publishing efforts across print and digital. This position will write and help concept high-level digital features, SEO, news, and commerce-based stories, as well as top edit and produce print issues. The ideal candidate has at least five years of professional experience in both digital and print platforms, is well-versed in home design, and excels at transforming copy into compelling packages.

What you'll do:
• Top edit and assign stories, with an eye for voice, cohesion, digital best practices, and grammar
• Instrumental in scouting and editorially producing digital and print home tours
• Has great rolodex of designers and brands
• Write print and digital stories as needed
• Ideate, assign, and help execute FOB and feature packages across print, digital, and social platforms
• Manage and work with a strong, diverse roster of freelance writers
• Collaborate with photo, social, and design teams
• Support top-level editorial initiatives, including but not limited to events, trade shows, special projects, video content, etc.
Who you are:
• 5 to 8 years of magazine media experience, with a robust print background and digital know-how
• Strong copy editing, reporting, and writing skills
• A proven ability to receive, digest, and implement editorial feedback
• Fluent in best digital practices (SEO, commerce, analytics) with a nimble ability to translate them into cogent and entertaining text
• Direct experience top editing and working with freelance and in-house writers
• Passionate about home design and well-versed in the design landscape, ideally has a ''rolodex'' of editors and experts that can be tapped as needed
• Comfortable with InCopy and CMS platforms
• A team player who is proactive, organized, enthusiastic, deadline-oriented, and willing to pitch in whenever needed
The base salary for this role is between $74,000 and $89,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
