This is a Full Time Job
The Sales Assistant is an entry level role that assists the sales team with sales coordination duties and performs the administrative tasks of the Pod sales process, for specific accounts across all 30 brands within the Hearst portfolio. It is a role that can be grown and developed to the person's individual abilities and goals. This position is responsible for supporting the sales team across print, digital, social and events and requires self-motivation and extreme attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES
What You'll Do
• Assist the Food/CPG Pod sales team in preparing sales materials, presentations, and proposals for clients
• Serve as a liaison between sales and internal Hearst teams (research, marketing, production) for client needs ie positioning, invoice requests, marketing & research requests
• Respond to client inquiries related to in-bound advertising requests
• Accurately complete advertising RFPs
• Work with business managers to process insertion orders and support critical paperwork
• Prepare competitive share-of-market reports and analyses
• Help with lead generation efforts for potential clients, competitive landscapes, and industry trends
• Manage monthly sales expenses and assist with travel arrangements
• Responsible for administrative tasks, including magazine mailers, ordering supplies, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Who You Are
• Proactive and intellectually curious; actively looking to assist team members and learn more about the Food/CPG media landscape
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service orientation
• Personable, highly organized, resourceful, detail-oriented, and comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, Excel, & Powerpoint
• Minimum 1 year of experience, with demonstrated interest in media/advertising
This position is based in the NYC office 3 days a week. No remote option.
