Your Impact
Cosmopolitan's Emerging Platforms team is looking for a Junior Motion Designer to work on visual and motion graphics projects for Snapchat Discover, TikTok, Discord, and Cosmopolitan's digital properties. We're looking for a visual artist who's fluent in After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator, and has a sharp eye for typography and layout. Bonus points if you know your way around Spark AR and can name all the Hype House members. Inclusive teamwork is a requirement, though, as this position is nestled among a team of talented designers and producers.
What you'll do
• Create and maintain visuals for Cosmo's Snapchat Discover channel
• Occasionally create animations/motion graphics for the site and social
• Create promotional banners for emerging platforms projects
• Integrate animated elements and type into videos and social assets
• Collaborate across creative teams and provide ideas and visual solutions in brainstorming meetings
• Illustration skills are a plus!
Who you are
• 1-2 years design and animation experience
• Mastery of design and animation programs (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Ability to translate content and concepts into visually descriptive and impactful designs.
• Must be a seasoned multi-tasker who can manage tight deadlines. Possessing a natural sense of curiosity and urgency.
• Commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
• Obsessive knowledge of the digital landscape and keen understanding of the competition
• Ability to collaborate across teams and proactively problem solve
• A unique storytelling perspective and a passion for creating purpose-driven work, representing a diverse set of voices!
• Familiarity with Internet humor, memes, pop culture, social trends
• Excellent at producing shareable animated and still mobile content
• Deep understanding of the Cosmo brand
• Positive attitude!
