This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
The Internship Program
The Hearst Magazines Summer Internship Program is a paid, full time 11-week program for undergraduate rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors. From June 6 – August 19, 2022, our interns will gain an immersive, hands-on experience with one of the top publishers in the world.
In addition to working with their assigned team on important projects, interns will gain access to Hearst's diverse professional network by participating in intimate learning sessions and join fun peer networking activities throughout the summer. Program participants will also leverage Hearst's resources to work on and present a group project to senior leaders at the conclusion of the program.
Our ideal intern for this program will be enthusiastic, organized, ready to absorb tons of knowledge this summer!
Your Impact
Veranda is a luxury brand that is undergoing a very exciting (and beautiful!) redesign that celebrates all things design, including architecture, interior design, gardens, and jewelry. Our staff is primarily based in Birmingham, Alabama, with one staff member in NYC. We're looking for a smart and enthusiastic intern to support the Assistant Style & Market Editor.
This intern will report to the team in Birmingham, Alabama and must be available for some in-person work.
What you'll do
• Research story ideas in areas of interior design, architecture, home market, and other luxury categories; summarize/present the research to editor(s) in a clear and efficient way
• Call in products and props for upcoming shoots, from tracking to returning
• Opportunity to contribute to Veranda.com
Who You Are
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills
• Interest in design with a keen eye for luxury?
• Strong research skills
• Ability to work independently and juggle multiple requests at once
• Preferred majors: Design, Journalism, or related fields
