Hearst Magazines seeks a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee the affiliate revenue and expenses within our organization. This role requires a deep understanding of Microsoft Excel with the ability to analyze trends and assist operators in making data-driven decisions that maximize profitability. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong focus on accuracy, and an ability to work independently.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, fast learner, and motivated to go above and beyond what is expected. Finance Manager must also be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
What You'll Do:
• Oversee month-end close reconciliation through review of journal entries and investigation of P&L variances to ensure accuracy
• Maintain financial model for monthly reforecast and make related updates in Oracle
• Distribute month-end financial summaries to management as well as relevant brand teams
• Collaborate closely with affiliate team to accurately forecast revenue and track expenses
• Monitor key metrics/performance on weekly basis and quantify any potential impact to revenue
• Develop, manage, and monitor budget, ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals and strategic objectives
• Partner with key stakeholders to prepare detailed financial analyses, presentations, and recommendations for leadership
• Assist with ad hoc reporting/analysis as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Who You Are:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Minimum 4 years of experience in financial management, preferably in media, affiliate marketing, or e-commerce sectors.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting tools, and advanced Microsoft Excel or financial software.
• Knowledge of Oracle Financials, Oracle Planning & Budgeting Cloud Service (EPBCS), and/or Smartview a plus
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal teams.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
This position is based in the NYC office 3 days a week. No remote option.
