Hearst Magazines is seeking an Executive Producer for its digital video production team. This person will be responsible for overseeing the creative on existing Hearst video series from initial pitch to final delivery, as well as developing new series across multiple Hearst magazine brands. Strong candidates must be able to clearly articulate video pitches, conduct thorough pre-production, oversee a shoot, direct talent and crew on set, collaborate with editors, and guide a project through post-production and upload – all while keeping it on budget and on schedule. Candidates should have experience working with celebrities and a passion for pop culture and lifestyle content. A strong understanding of YouTube is also required.
What You'll Do:
• Oversee the creative identity of each brand and series, including but not limited to video tone, casting, set design, lighting, graphic design, creative prompts, and music selection
• Lead team in brainstorming and developing innovative and shareable multi-platform series formats and creative concepts
• Write log lines, treatments, beat sheets, shot lists and scripts for new and current programming
• Direct shoots while managing creative department heads and producing celebrity talent
• Collaborate with editors by providing articulate creative notes
• Deliver videos on time with a keen attention to detail
• Ensure all videos stay on budget and on schedule
• Utilize and enforce best practices for our video production team
• Work closely with the research and analytics team to monitor statistics with the goal of improving performance
• Collaborate with legal team to ensure all productions remain compliant
• Serve as a leader and mentor for other producers and associate producers
• Collaborate creatively with other producers on new series, big projects and stunt ideas
Who You Are:
• Bachelor's degree
• 15 years creative production experience in genres like celebrity interviews, lifestyle, and unscripted - background in digital media is a must
• Ability to produce internet-forward, highly engaging short & long form video
• Creative thinker with a keen eye for visual storytelling
• Strong understanding of production
• Deadline driven and results oriented
• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
• Experience developing shows, writing treatments, and shooting pilots
• Experience creating branded content
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Management and interpersonal skills that inspire passion, dedication, and excellence from others
The base salary for this role is between $120,000 and $180,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
