This is a Full Time Job
We are looking for an organized, proactive Editorial Assistant to support the Editor in Chief of Elle. This role is essential to keeping our creative team running smoothly, and providing high-level administrative support in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. You must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects with a sense of urgency. The ideal candidate is comfortable with scheduling, travel arrangements, expense management, and project coordination.
What you'll do
• Maintain daily schedule and calendar
• Organize and file expense reports on a timely basis and in keeping with Hearst policy
• Manage communication and arrange meetings with contacts at all levels of seniority
• Organize business travel arrangements
• Coordinate special events
• Help prepare decks, remarks or presentations for meetings and events
• Sending out invites and issues to key contributors
• Miscellaneous research, errands, and administrative tasks
Who you are
• Must be a college graduate with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Need to have very strong organizational, issue-resolution, and decision-making skills; sound judgment and discretion (need to handle confidential material)
• Prior experience with administrative duties during the course of an internship at a magazine or in another related field is preferred.
• A strong writer, with journalism or PR experience
• Must be familiar with Outlook, Powerpoint and Excel; knowledge of K4 or Woodwing production system is helpful.
This position is based in the NYC office a minimum of 3 days a week but most likely closer to 4-5 days in office.
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
