ELLE DECOR is looking for a smart and motivated editorial assistant to work across our print and digital platforms. This role includes writing SEO and e-commerce articles for the website, overseeing product credits for the print magazine, and managing captions and the resources page through the editorial process. You will also assist on story production, including coordinating products for photo shoots and attending on-set. Additionally, you will help the editor in chief with monthly expense reports. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and a passion for design.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Report and write SEO, e-commerce, and other stories for ElleDecor.com on a weekly basis.
• Collaborate with the deputy digital editor and engagement editor on audience engagement efforts, including writing for the ELLE DECOR email newsletter, membership program, and social media platforms.
• Procure credit information from interior designers for feature stories and incorporate these into print captions and back-of-book resource listings.
• Assist on photo shoots by calling in/returning products, assisting on set, and handling insurance paperwork.
• File monthly expense reports for the editor in chief.
Job Qualifications:
• Previous experience in journalism or media, either through internships or full-time work.
• Strong writing skills.
• A willingness to learn and enthusiasm to support the team.
• Interest in home and design is preferred but not required.
