Harper's Bazaar is looking for an editorial assistant to work across platforms, aiding both the news team and the social media manager in content creation and management. The primary responsibilities of this role include writing celebrity news stories and updating social feeds. The ideal candidate is a quick, clean writer who is as comfortable working with TikTok videos and Instagram captions as they are researching a reported piece. This role reports to the digital director.
What you'll do:
• Write 2-3 pieces a day, with an emphasis on celebrity news and evergreen stories
• Help the news team aggregate data from Google Trends to drive SEO strategy
• Update our Facebook management tools daily with new stories
• Write 2-3 Instagram captions a week
• Share content from our video team on TikTok regularly
• Occasionally attend events to film social content
Who you are:
• Strong writing skills
• Strong organizational skills

• Ability to work quickly and cleanly in a fast-paced environment
• A collaborative attitude
• An interest in learning about all facets of digital media
• A Bachelor's degree
• One to two internships with an editorial or fashion brand
The base salary for this role is $60,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
