Full Time Job
Hearst Magazines is hiring a new director of fashion for the Women's Group. Working with the creative departments, this position will conceptualize and lead fashion direction for such renowned brands as Cosmopolitan, Women's Health, Seventeen, and Good Housekeeping, along with styling shoots and providing market for Hearst's branded-content studio, HearstMade. Requires a deep love of fashion, wide-ranging knowledge of the market, a keen eye for trends, and an endless stream of ideas. What you'll do:
• Set the tone, overall strategy, and calendar for the fashion team across six leading consumer brands (Cosmopolitan, Women's Health, Seventeen, Good Housekeeping, Woman's Day, Prevention)
• Manage the departmental budget and a team of 14 editors, stylists, and production specialists
• Lead the team to conceptualize and deliver creative briefs for initiatives including celebrity content, fashion editorials, and brand licensing agreements
• Help the team to execute fashion styling and market work for targeted Hearst brands and HearstMade
• Partner with the ad team to showcase the influence and expertise of the Women's Group fashion editors
• Direct and execute e-commerce efforts and SEO-informed fashion editorial across titles
• Style fashion editorial and celebrity-driven cover shoots
• Act as the public face and voice to communicate the fashion points of view of the multiple brands
• Represent the brands at fashion weeks and other events
• Represent the brands in the market and on sales calls
What you'll bring:
• At least 12 years of professional experience in fashion editorial, including serving as a fashion director at a major consumer fashion publication or brand, or related experience in high-profile styling for an editorial brand
• At least 5 years of professional experience managing an editorial team
• Experience styling fashion magazine covers
• Experience working with celebrity talent
• Meaningful contacts at fashion brands
• Deep experience representing a brand in the market and in media
