About HearstMade
HearstMade is the in-house branded content studio for all of Hearst Magazines. Through a combination of data-driven insight and editorial instinct, we create stories that not only get attention but drive action. We are looking for a well-rounded Deputy Editor to join our team of editors, designers, photo and video producers and talent bookers in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Your Impact
HearstMade is looking for a Deputy Editor to maintain the highest standards of writing for Hearst sites in partnership with our clients. This role will involve top-editing and copy-editing all deliverables for structure, precision, and style consistency for each site. The ideal candidate is passionate about packaging, excellence and accuracy in grammar, journalism, and storytelling; skilled at communicating and collaborating with editors and producers in a fast-paced, high-volume environment; and excited about mentorship of editors.

What You'll Do
• Collaborate closely with assigning editors to produce high-quality and accurate copy for digital assets
• Safeguard the reputation of each Hearst brand through appropriate voice and style
• Review all content for accuracy
• Mentor a team of editors
Who You Are
• 6 years of professional experience top editing for consumer and/or branded newsrooms
• 2-3 years of leadership experience with direct reports
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborator and mentor
• Wordsmith and fact checker
• Reader of the zeitgeist
• Strategic thinker
