Drive the future of client partnerships at scale. As Director of Account Management, you'll shape how we deliver value to our advertising partners while unlocking growth across a dynamic, multi-brand portfolio.
Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Account Management team, including both people managers and individual contributors, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and client excellence
• Partner closely with Sales Leadership to drive strategic account planning, optimize campaign performance, and unlock upsell and renewal opportunities
• Act as a senior escalation point for key client accounts, ensuring responsive, solutions-oriented communication and long-term relationship health
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Revenue Operations, and Ad Product teams to align on client strategy and operational execution
• Establish and scale standardized processes, playbooks, and workflows that improve efficiency and consistency across teams
• Monitor account health, proactively mitigate risks, and drive performance metrics tied to retention, incremental revenue, and client satisfaction
• Lead regular category and stakeholder meetings to assess performance, remove operational barriers, and identify growth opportunities
• Serve as a subject matter expert on Hearst Magazines' advertising products and capabilities, providing strategic guidance on complex media planning and pricing
Qualifications (What We're Looking For)
• 8 years of experience in digital media, advertising technology, or publishing, with a strong background in account management or client leadership
• Proven success leading and scaling high-performing account management teams, including managing managers
• Deep expertise in digital advertising, including programmatic, direct-sold, branded content, and native solutions
• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and build trust across senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth through client retention, upselling, and strategic account development
• Experience designing and implementing operational processes that improve efficiency and scalability
• Passion for developing talent and fostering inclusive, high-performing team environments
• Hybrid work schedule based in New York City (in-office requirements apply)
