Hearst Magazines is seeking a Compensation Manager who will play a key role in developing and implementing the HR strategy in support of short-term and long-term business objectives with the overall goal of attracting, retaining, and developing a high performing culture. Provide strategic counsel and consultative partnership to HR and business leaders to tackle organizational challenges, from an overall unified pay philosophy but agile to address individual pay situations. Will have a deep focus on pay equity and compliance. Specific area of responsibility includes but is not limited to managing compensation. Ability to assist with compliance and operations a plus.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities include
• Partner, collaborate, and influence HR team and other key stakeholders (Finance, Legal, and UniFi) to drive successful people and business outcomes related to compensation
• Oversee the compensation process, including day to day requests for market competitive analysis, job evaluation, development of market reference points, policies and procedures, off-cycle merit increases, mobility adjustments
• Handle ad-hoc requests, collect and interpret data. Provide relevant insights back to management and business to drive continuous improvements
Skills
& Key Experiences
• 3-5 years of prior compensation experience required; previous operations experience a plus
• Effective team player who supports and drives successful outcomes at all levels of the organization
• Strong business and financial acumen. Ability to understand drivers of shareholder value and how to translate these into appropriate compensation and management actions.
• Proven success facilitating diverse teams, both internally (human resources) and externally (budgeting, operations, compliance, technology)
