Hearst Magazines is looking for a Commerce Editor to work strategically with the Affiliate Partnerships and SEM Buying teams to create and launch content that will drive e-commerce coverage across our 22 digital brands portfolio including Best Products, Good Housekeeping, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Men's Health, Town & Country and more.
As a part of this team, the Commerce Editor will be responsible for writing and producing original articles and galleries geared toward engaging readers' e-commerce behaviors. The ideal candidate should be a strong communicator, highly organized, understand digital traffic patterns, and be able to work within tight deadlines.
The Commerce Editor's responsibilities include:
• Work closely with the SEM and e-commerce teams to drive Hearst's market coverage based on keyword optimization, affiliate relationships, and a deep understanding of what items and categories people want to learn about and ultimately buy.
• Liaising with the broader edit teams to share SEM content updates and best practices.
• Creating and maintaining content geared toward affiliate revenue creation, with a focus on SEM traffic.
• Analyzing traffic and purchase reporting to determine opportunities for new content creation and identifying new products and formats to test.
• Collaborating, sharing results, and brainstorming with other team members to help shape future campaign and content strategies.
• Monitoring online traffic to understand what works and why, and gear coverage towards it.
Requirements
• At least two years of full-time experience at a digital-first media brand, ideally one with a strong e-commerce presence
• Ability to write fast, clean copy with a strong voice and point of view
• Experience balancing many different factors – from SEO to commerce revenue to traffic – to optimize online content
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment and able to adapt to quick changes
• Adept at handling multiple deliverables with tight deadlines
• Well-versed in analytics like Chartbeat, Parse.ly, and Google Analytics
• Bachelor's Degree
