Your Impact:
Associate Manager, Ad Services will be the primary liaison for print and digital advertising reporting for one of the most exciting and growing brands in the Hearst portfolio – Popular Mechanics. The role will serve a critical support function for the business and VP, Sales through account list facilitation, advertiser guidelines and regulations, issue logistics, and pricing for this tentpole brand of Hearst's Enthusiast Group. The role will work closely with the VP, Sales on regular reporting for the executive team, while also collaborating with sales and marketing on digital, social and print RFP responses, positioning, competitors, deadlines, and logistics.
What you'll do:
• Manage weekly financial reporting to executive team and brand management
• Manage all print and digital RFP pricing
• Primary custodian of account lists, territories and category assignments
• Primary custodian and liaison for Salesforce, DOMO and Media Radar
• Responsible for coordination and lay out of the magazine
• Detailed knowledge of advertiser requirements in terms of positioning and adjacent editorial for both print and digital executions
• Primary liaison with Editorial Managing Editor on issue logistics
• Maintain filing systems – positioning, forecasts, historical pricing data, etc.
• Assist the sales team in understanding the editorial content of the magazine
• Liaison with printer to:
• Manage production and pub studio on deadlines
• Close and material dates
• Pricing and paper
• Distribution for comp, staff, event and special-order copies
• Collaborate with marketing on annual media kits, and updates throughout the year
• Primary custodian of issue masthead
• Possess a thorough knowledge of advertisers and their rate and positioning history
Who you are:
• 3 – 5 years experience in media advertising or marketing
• Highly organized, ability to maintain accurate and up-to-the minute reporting and tracking
• Experience with digital and print publishing, schedules and timelines
• Proficient in identifying and acknowledging advertiser requirements in relation to editorial content and internal policy
• Ability to manage multiple workflows, managing several sales representatives needs within a full slate of issues
• Familiarity with active and target accounts, identifying synergies in editorial content when relevant
• Digitally savvy with a proficiency in media plan understanding and application
• Proficiency with Salesforce, DOMO, and Media Radar
• Proficiency with Office 365 and SharePoint
