POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for various elements of day-to-day operational assistance for the team with a focus on supporting equipment needs and ad hoc needs for team operations surrounding games throughout the season. This position is a full time position over the course of the season, which runs from late October through early May.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
• Working closely with Manager of Basketball Operations, Manager of Player Development, and Coaching Staff to effectively and efficiently complete all responsibilities.
• Assist Coaching, Athlete Care, and Operations staff with any ad hoc requests that arise before or during practices and games.
• The set-up and clean-up of benches and locker rooms for all home games
• Ensuring the courts are ready for any player needs for all practices (complete set up of practice)
• Responsible for all laundry needs – post practice and games, including visiting team laundry when requested
• The organization, setup, and clean-up of player, coach, and staff locker rooms day to day
• Assisting coaches with player requests during workouts/practice, to include but not limited to: rebounding, drill set ups, wiping wet spots on the floor, etc.
• Assist with player engagement activities and community service as needed
• Assist with filing receipts for expense reports
• Assist with scheduling/coordinating team outings
• Responsible for player transportation to and from the facility for games and practices
• Assist with team travel responsibilities
• As needed, assist with visiting team practice either at Chase Fieldhouse or specified alternative practice court
• Maintain inventory of all essential items needed at facility (player toiletries, water, Gatorade, etc.) and reorder when necessary
• Seek out opportunities to proactively assist the team in this role by anticipating potential player/staff needs and working with the game night basketball operations team to ensure that these needs are met.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
• 1-2 years of basketball, operations, or any other sport related experience
• Required to attend all of the home games and practices, and be available for duration of entire season
• Team Player, hard-working, and ability to multi-task
• Organized, can prioritize work activities, uses time efficiently
• Detail-oriented
• Great communication skills
• Presents self in a professional manner and takes a professional approach to working with players, coaches, and other members of the organization.
• Interpersonal skills – ability to listens to others, anticipate team needs, and an eagerness to learn on the job
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Reliably maintains a high level of confidentiality and discretion at all times.
• Willingness and ability to assist with on-court pre-game workouts and practices.
• Willingness and ability to pack, carry, and load team equipment as needed.
