Full Time Unpaid Internship
The Job
HBO Archives & Asset Management, a business group within HBO Post Delivery Planning & Operations, is responsible for collecting, cataloging, and maintaining the creative endeavors of HBO Original Productions, as well as supporting current business needs in a studio post production pipeline. Post Delivery and Archives seeks an undergraduate student intern interested in Post Production, Library Science, or Museums and Archives. Ideal candidates are hard working with a positive attitude, interested in a studio archive or post production profession, and work well as part of a team.
The Daily
Post Delivery:
• Assist with organizing reports and post production documentation
• Support department assistants with phone coverage
• Assist with shipping packages and scheduling messenger runs
• Create and maintain departmental spreadsheets as well as data entry
Archives:
• Packing and inventory of HBO original film, video, audio, and digital assets
• File inventory sheets
• Research legacy titles and assets (update Xytech database, Library Fact Sheets)
• Research and coordinate data for current shows (updates to Xytech database and Title Format Research sheet)
• Visit warehouse facility, post production vendor tours, shadow film inspections, attend department meetings
• Assist organizing the vaults (labeling, moving boxes, identifying physical assets)
• Assist file management (proof read documents, reformat spreadsheets, upload files to SharePoint)
The Essentials
• High attention to detail
• Superior writing skills
• Film/Video production coursework or relevant experience
• Database experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Previous assistant or office environment experience
• Knowledge of video editing a plus
• Interest in Libraries, Archives, or Museums
The summer program runs for 10 weeks from June to August. Able to work in Los Angeles and secure housing accommodations (HBO will not cover the cost of housing).
Passionate about Film, TV, Media & Entertainment. Prior internship experience a plus. All internship positions are paid.
