The Job
The selected candidate will join the Applied Analytics Quantitative Team, composed
of researchers with backgrounds in the physical, social, and computational sciences.
• The Quantitative Team builds novel statistical models, identifies first-of-their-kind applications of machine learning methodologies, and designs scientifically rigorous surveys and experiments that enable remarkable inferences and predictions about consumers and markets in the entertainment industry.
• The Primary Research Co-Op is a full-time, six-month cooperative term (co-op) term position.
• Outcomes: - Learn, apply, and extend cutting-edge survey research methods for application in authentic, real-world situations with a diverse set of data sources
• Engage in online data collection and qualitative and quantitative research analysis with a team trained in academic survey research methodologies
• Work with a diverse team of scientists, software developers, and business strategists to advance WarnerMedia's content development and positioning in film, TV, sports, and other domains
• Opportunity to work on exciting new properties in film and throughout entertainment at all stages from conception to release
• Develop communication skills for engaging both domain experts and non-technical stakeholders
• Exposure to advanced modeling, machine learning and other data science techniques
The Essentials
• Experience with data analysis in any field (e.g. descriptive statistics)
• Proficiency with one or more of the following: Advanced Microsoft Excel, SPSS, R - Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite - Strong communication skills
• Pursuing degree in social sciences, economics, or a related field
• Experience in human subjects research design and analysis
• Experience or interest in using programming languages such as R and/or Python to automate analyses, visualize data and generate reports
• Experience with online survey research tools and platforms (e.g. Qualtrics, Amazon Mechanical Turk) is a plus
