Your New Role...
HBO is looking for a Manager of Picture for Post Production Services & Restoration. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who can work independently with excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills. This individual will have a strong understanding of the post-production process and be able to use their skills and experience with non-linear editing software to bring a restoration project to its final form. This involves working closely with the Director of Post Production Picture to ensure that the restored footage is of the highest quality and meets the project's creative vision. This person must be able to detect and solve technical issues that may arise throughout the facility and production process. Troubleshooting skills are essential. Since this position involves frequent communication with staff and clients, the ideal candidate will have an approachable and friendly demeanor, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical users. Finally, the ideal candidate must be committed to quality and have a passion for new technologies.
Your Role Accountabilities...
• Manage Picture finishing, this includes Reviewing and organizing restored film footage, color correction, and picture media management for internal projects as well as archival restorations.
• Spot episodes for missing elements such as transitions, VFX, optical effects, and stock footage
• Conforming scanned material to match air masters
• Incorporating any additional elements such as sound, visual effects, or graphics as needed
• Ensuring that the final product meets technical and formatting requirements for distribution or screening
• Maintaining accurate records of the process and any changes made to the footage to create a new digital archive
• Track all outgoing and incoming shots from outside vendors
• Track all technical and creative notes relating to outsources shots
• Update Shotgrid to keep the projects up to date
• Run final review sessions with in-house executives, outside post-production staff and show runners
Qualifications and Experience...
• Undergraduate degree in Media Arts or similar field
• Applicants should have a minimum 3-6 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of DaVinci Resolve
• Familiarity with additional non-linear editing software such as Avid, Baselight, Adobe Premiere
• Fundamental understanding of Dolby Vision / HDR workflows
• Basic understanding of Production tracking software such as Shotgrid or Ftrack
• Strong working knowledge of asset management, storage, sequencing, naming conventions, etc
• Solid understanding of video fundamentals including sync, time code, standards, formats and frame rates.
• Basic understanding of color spaces/color theory
• The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, as well as a passion for film and film restoration.
Preferred…
• An understanding of restoration best practices and techniques
• Experience with color managed workflows
• Experience in VFX, i.e. Paint, Compositing and Tracking

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $82,600.00 - $153,400.00 salary per year.
