OVERALL SUMMARY:
This position will play a key role in the benefits and operations function. Primary role to administer and maintain health and welfare programs and oversee the operations function. This includes managing a staff of two (HR Receptionist and Assistant, HR Operations).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Benefits
• Develop, plan and execute all employee seminars/programs and annual Wellness Fair
• Serve as HBO's contact for escalations with the TW Benefits Service Center and TW vendors.
• Conduct Benefits new hire orientation; support HR Generalists through the onboarding process.
• Analyze benefits dashboards, data and trends and recommend programs to improve outcomes and reduce costs.
• Manage HBO's tuition reimbursement Plan
• Assist Director in leave administration and accommodations.
• Monitor industry benchmark practices and communicate to HR Management.
• Update HBO's intranet postings & employee handbook on benefits matters and policies; assist in the development of internal staff communications.
• Oversee process to ensure Affordable Care Act and NYC Earned Sick Time requirements are being met.
• Participate in special projects as needed; provide ad hoc reports to management.
Operations
• Manage HR Receptionist who oversees temp pool and Assistant, HR Operations
• Oversee non-staff administration; support ER requests and distribute reports as necessary
• Conduct dept audits, i.e. monthly new hire, staff & non-staff employee files
• Handle I-9 re-verifications
• Participate in special projects as needed; provide ad hoc reports to management.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum 4-5 years exp working in a progressive employee benefits department
• Must have prior experience managing a staff
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written
• Must be able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines; have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be flexible; have the ability to work independently or as a team player
• Must have demonstrated strong analytical skills
• Must be detail oriented, highly organized and have excellent judgment
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
